THE PRODUCTS

We offer gluten-free, dairy free, vegan and vegetarian options so everyone can enjoy the taste and flavours of African & Caribbean foods.

We take great care in choosing what we offer, how we prepare it, and how it is served, because we believe that only the best is good enough for our customers.

Austine is passionate about customer service and quality.   Just take a look at the quality and variety of food available from Jerk Station

OUR BEGINNINGS

With a background in customer service, hospitality and event management, Austine completed training in a Caribbean restaurant prior to launching Jerk Station.

Having obtained in-depth hands-on experience on the internal operations and the Caribbean cuisine, he has used the experience to tweak the menu options to appeal to a wider, non-traditional audience, whilst maintaining the authentic ingredients and traditional styles.

In 2013, Austine successfully introduced Caribbean foods in the Calabar Carnival (Nigeria).

Here in the UK he has spearheaded the successful operations of Jerk Station in several outdoor events, including the Fling festival, 3 foot festival, Orsett show, Billericay Christmas market, Upminster Fun day, Village Green festival, Chelmsford Beer and Cider Festival, Bocking Fayre and several events at the highly prestigious Hedingham  Castle.

OUR BACKGROUND - THE BUSINESS

The founder started developing the business in the UK in April 2014, driven by a passionate desire to deliver high quality African and Caribbean cuisine to the discerning public who care about (the) quality of ingredients, great taste, and world-class customer service.

In September 2015, Jerk Station started life from a pop up stall at Chelmsford High Street market.

… in December 2015, we signed up to the Tuck IN project and became one of the very few eating outlets in the Essex region, committed to encouraging positive, healthier lifestyle choices by making food better.

On 14th May 2019, we opened our first takeaway shop at 51 Duke Street Chelmsford CM1 1JA, less than 2 minutes’ walk from Chelmsford train station.

With Headquarters now at 51 Duke Street Chelmsford, Jerk Station also has 2 other locations:- Chelmsford High Street Market (Every Friday and Saturday), and Anglia Ruskin University Chelmsford (Tuesday and Thursday, during term times).

In addition to delivering to a number of areas within Chelmsford, our food is also offered through pop up restaurants at High Street markets, University campuses, fetes, community shows, farmers markets, carnivals, and festivals.
